With the 2011-12 season right around the corner, we wanted to take a look back. Over the next few weeks I'll be counting down the Top 15 Gamecock moments from 2010-11 across several sports from the Spurs Up perspective. It was a good year for the Gamecocks, so hope you enjoy reminiscing with me!

#15: Alshon Jeffery's season-long 70-yard touchdown vs. Tennessee

When you're named as a first team All-American, unanimous first team All-SEC, and a Biletnikoff finalist as only a sophomore, you're bound to have a great highlight reel. This year, a few of Alshon's catches stood out from the rest. One such catch is #15 on our countdown of the top moments of 2010-11: his season-long, 70-yard, defender-evading touchdown catch vs. Tennessee on October 30th, 2010.

The touchdown and extra point gave the Gamecocks a 31-24 lead they would never relinquish, going on to win 38-24 over the Vols.

With his fantastic 2010 season, Alshon set the single-season school records in both receptions (88) and receiving yards (1,517). He led the SEC in receiving yards per game, averaging over 100 yards per game with 108.4. With the 2011 season just around the corner, Gamecock fans hope to see another outstanding year from the 6'4", 230 lb. receiver.

I asked Alshon back in November what goes through his mind
when he makes a catch and turns downfield, such as with this touchdown, and his answer is definitely my top quote of the year:

"Do something to be great."

-Brittany

Stay tuned every weekday and Saturday for the rest of the Top 15 countdown!
