With the 2011-12 season right around
the corner, we wanted to take a look back at the past year. Over the next few weeks I'll
be counting down the Top 15 Gamecock moments from 2010-11 across
several sports from the Spurs Up perspective. It was a good year for the
Gamecocks, so I hope you enjoy reminiscing with me!

#13 - Cocky's 30th Birthday Party
Everyone's favorite Gamecock turned 30 on October 16, 2010, and we turned the event into a week of celebration, making for our #13 top moment of 2010-11. Coach Spurrier kicked off the festivities at his Tuesday press conference, presenting Cocky with a special cake, and the party continued to Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, and Volleyball games over the weekend.
Cocky got "interviewed" on the news and here on the blog I wrote about the busy life of Cocky and talked to John Routh, the first Cocky. Fans sent in dozens of great pictures of themselves with Cocky over the years. The photos were shown on the videoboard during the weekend's games. Crowds at the games serenaded Cocky with Happy Birthday and each team presented the bird with a signed ball. The birthday wishes for Cocky poured in from fans on Facebook and Twitter.

#14: Women's Basketball Upsets LSU, 63-61, at Colonial Life Arena
