Gamecock fans gathered at Carolina Stadium Thursday morning to give the baseball team a great send-off as they headed to Omaha for the 2011 College World Series.
Coach Tanner addressed the crowd, thanking them for their support.
"Sincerely, thank you very much for being here today. You guys mean so much to us. One of the coaches from UConn said to me in the Super Regionals the other day, he said 'you really have a great club, a great bunch of players, and a great stadium, but there's one thing about your team...' I said, 'what's that?' He said, "your fans will not let you lose." So thank you very much!"
