MLB Draft Begins Monday Night, Watch for Gamecocks

The success of the South Carolina Baseball program continued Monday afternoon as the Gamecocks won their NCAA Regional to advance to the Super Regionals for the second consecutive year. Another mark of the program's success is players who have gone on to play professionally.

The Major League Baseball Draft begins tonight, Monday, June 6th, airing live on MLB.com and MLB Network. Several Gamecocks may be drafted over the three-day process. Jackie Bradley Jr. has been projected as an early pick and is listed as a top prospect by Baseball America, MLB.com, and more.

While his recent wrist injury puts his status in doubt somewhat, many MLB Draft experts still think he may go in the first round or in the supplemental round (compensatory picks after the completion of the first round but before the second round).

Several other Gamecocks are also eligible for the draft and may be selected as the draft continues on Tuesday with rounds 2-30 and concludes Wednesday with rounds 31-50.
