ORLANDO EARLY HEADED TO NC STATE

We wish Coach Early the best as he heads to NC State to join longtime friend Mark Gottfried's new staff:

"I want to thank Coach Horn and the University for the opportunities I had at South Carolina.  Coach Horn has the basketball program moving in the right direction. Over the course of the last year, and more specifically over the course of the last several weeks, Coach Horn has been an unbelievable leader for the staff and team.

"I'm leaving South Carolina because this is an opportunity for my family and me that I can't pass up.  Mark Gottfried and I are longtime friends and have a very close relationship.  When I left Alabama, I left to take a head coaching position, but Mark and I have always talked about working together again in the future, and that opportunity has opened up for me at NC State."

Coach Horn:

"I appreciate Coach Early and the effort he put into South Carolina basketball and wish he and his family the best at NC State.  When you have good, experienced people on your staff there is always a chance they will move on.  Coach Early was given an opportunity to join Coach Gottfried, someone he has a long coaching history with.

"We will find the right person to fill the vacancy on our staff, someone who will make us better as we continue to move forward."
