Indoor 60-m National Champion LaKya Brookins will run for the first time in the outdoor season at this Saturday's Weems Baskin Invitational here in Columbia at the Weems Baskin Track on campus. It is the only home meet hosted by the Gamecocks so don't miss your chance to see Brookins and all our elite track & field athletes compete. Admission is free and events start at 10:00 AM. Brookins is scheduled to run the 100-m dash and a leg of the 4x100-m relay.
Softball freshman second baseman Dana Hathorn led the attack in last night's 9-0 win over Coastal Carolina with three RBI and hit her first career triple in a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Next up for Softball is a three game weekend series at Tennessee starting at 6:00 PM on Friday. The 12:30 PM match-up on Saturday will be televised live on SportSouth.
