| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Several Gamecocks will be trying out new positions when spring football practice begins next week, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Jason Barnes.jpeg6'4" wide receiver Jason Barnes (pictured right) moves from the outside to a slot position. Speedster Bryce Sherman moves from tailback to wide receiver. Ronald Patrick moves from center to offensive guard, a position he played in high school. The tight end position will see a trio of newcomers, including former defensive players Chaun Gresham and Corey Simmons and former walk-on quarterback Payton Brady. Walk-on Billy Byrne will get a look at fullback after playing on the defensive side of the ball previously. Defensively, Akeem Auguste moves back to cornerback after spending last season as a safety.

Spring practice begins next Tuesday, March 15th, at 4:00 PM. All practices are open to the public. Photography (both still and video) will be allowed for the first 15 minutes of practice only and autographs will not be allowed at any practice sessions.
