Last week four Gamecock student-athletes joined Cocky to head out to Pickney Elementary School on base at Fort Jackson. All children in school at Pickney have at least one parent on Active duty with the U.S. Military. Chris Duzan, Danny Cates, and Daniel Lynch from Men's Soccer and Brandi Byers from Volleyball worked with 5th and 6th graders from P.E. classes to practice various soccer drills, play games, and spend time with the kids afterward signing autographs and talking. As you can see in the photo slideshow below, Cocky was also a big hit as always. The athletics department worked with Colonel Craig Currey, Deputy Commander of Fort Jackson to put the event together. Jeff Nichols, the P.E. teacher at Pickney, is a South Carolina alumnus, class of 1977.
