The sixth and final episode of the Softball edition of Gamecock Confidential is now up. The first five episodes (catch up on our YouTube channel) took you through the Gamecocks' preparation for the New Chapter under new head coach Beverly Smith. The final episode takes you through the opening weekend of games... and watch through the end for a few extra laughs.
ROOSTER CROWS
Freshman Amanda Rutqvist became South Carolina's first-ever SEC women's swimming champion on Saturday, winning the 200-yard breaststroke event and setting a new SEC record with a time of 2:08.56. It was the fifth-fastest time in the country this year and an NCAA automatic qualifying mark, earning her a guaranteed berth in the 2011 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships.
All four Gamecocks teams in action yesterday (Sunday) were victorious. Baseball beat Santa Clara 6-0 to sweep the weekend series, Women's Basketball beat Auburn 65-49, Men's Tennis beat USC Upstate 5-2, and Softball beat Michigan State 11-3 to win the Homewood Suites/Hilton Garden Inn Florida Gulf Coast Tournament title.

There was a great crowd out at Carolina Stadium all weekend to watch Baseball take on Santa Clara. Thank you, fans for a great opening weekend! Next game is a home series with Southern Illinois starting this Friday at 3:00 PM.
