Our Opening Day festivities for Baseball this Friday will have a military theme, highlighted by a flyover of Carolina Stadium to be performed by the United States Air Force. The National Anthem will be sung by Technical Sergeant Steve David. Sgt. David is a Recruiter in the South Carolina Air National Guard. He served in the Air Force on active duty from 1997 to 2002 and joined the Air National Guard in 2004. He is a veteran of Operations Northern Watch and Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. David gained national notoriety when he was selected as a top 40 finalist during Season 5 of American Idol. A resident of Sumter, he is married to Airman Ashley David, who is also a member of the S.C. Air National Guard and the couple has two children. Military representatives will also present the colors and the United States flag.
We'll also be running photos on the videoboard during the game of Gamecock fans serving in the military, past or present. Send in your photos to GamecockAthletics@gmail.com! The best photos for us to use usually include something Gamecock related, such as the one below:

Festivities will begin at approximately 2:40 PM, 20 minutes before the 3:00 PM game time, so be sure to get there early!
Season tickets (let's get to that 5,000 goal!) and single game tickets information available here.
Go Gamecocks!
