We want to turn the Queen City into a "home away from home" for our Gamecocks. With the ticket split we should be able to do that. South Carolina has been allotted 40,000 tickets and ECU has 30,000.
This game is technically a home game for ECU, though played in Charlotte. Our fans will be able to purchase tickets for the game on the football season ticket application as they do with other away games. Football season ticket applications are expected to be mailed to current 2011 Gamecock Club members within the next week or so. Due to the unique nature of the game and number of tickets available, Gamecock Club members will be able to purchase double their normal priority limit for away games. If tickets remain after Gamecock Club member orders, tickets will be made available to the public.
This game is part of a six game series with ECU with three games to be played at Williams-Brice, two in Charlotte, and one at ECU in Greenville, NC. This is technically the second game as the first was substituted with UAB when ECU faced a scheduling conflict. ECU is a top tier Conference USA team, winning the conference championship in both 2008 and 2009.
It's a passionate fan base.
It's a "home away from home".
It's the first game of 2011.
It's the Garnet Way.

will this be an event students will be allotted tickets for or shuld we look to buy them on the street
There will definitely be an allotment held for students for the ECU game, but don't have final details yet. We'll keep you updated!
