Gamecocks fall in SEC Championship Game

| 1 Comment | No TrackBacks
Rough outing for the Gamecocks tonight, as we fell 56-17 to No. 1 ranked Auburn. Auburn will remain undefeated and should hold on to their No. 1 ranking to represent the SEC in the BCS Championship Game. South Carolina will move on to a bowl game to be officially announced on tomorrow's selection show on ESPN. Full recap, game notes, and statistics to come on

Disappointing night for the team and for fans, but what a magical season it has been for the Gamecocks. Wins over Georgia, then no. 1 Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida all in one season to win the SEC Eastern Division for the first time in school history, as well as earn nine wins for just the third time in school history, including a second consecutive win over archrival Clemson. "Wait til next year" actually feels like a pretty positive thing right about now - more like a warning to others than a comfort for SC fans.

We'll keep you updated with bowl information as soon as it is available! Go Gamecocks!
