Spurs Up Blog announced in March that the University of South Carolina won the College Sports Information Directors of America's "Best in the Nation" for its 2009 football media guide. The media guide was designed by media relations director Steve Fink with the help of assistant media relations directors Wes Todd and Emily Feeney. At Sunday's Media Day, Coach Spurrier presented Fink with a framed award. Coach Spurrier handed Fink the microphone so he could make a speech to the media, but Fink jokingly declined to comment.
"I thought he was going to thank his teammates," Spurrier said.
For those of you keeping track - the Gamecocks finished in 1st place in the media guide contest, Clemson finished 3rd.
