Check out the Gamecock Football promotional site to watch the newest Hometown video as defensive end Cliff Matthews talks about growing up in Cheraw.

Matthews earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2009 and is a team captain who is listed on the preseason Lott Trophy, Nagurski and Lombardi watch lists. The consensus preseason first-team All-SEC selection has played in 37 games over the past three seasons, including 33 starts, most among the returning players. The senior has accounted for 105 career tackles including 17.5 tackles for loss and 10.0 sacks.

Matthews loved growing up in the "big little town" of Cheraw, riding his bicycle around town.  He talks about how exciting it was in Cheraw on the day he signed for the Gamecocks and about how much South Carolina fans mean to him.

The next Hometown video will be posted on July 29.

Visit the Gamecock Football promotional site to watch more Hometown videos, create your own desktop wallpaper and earn your home county a spot in the opening video played prior to kickoff at the game against Southern Miss on Sept. 2nd. Fans that register on the site and upload photos showing Gamecock pride will earn points for their county. A running scoreboard, weighted by county population, shows the leading counties. In addition, each fan that registers on the site will be entered to win a pair of tickets in the Champions Club for a game this fall.

Season tickets are on sale now and available by joining the Gamecock Club for as low as $55.
