In March, Sgt. Brian Henson, a Gamecock alumnus serving in the United States Army in Afghanistan, made a request to the athletic department for some items to help build goodwill with the local Afghans. The email made the rounds in the Gamecock Club and to the desk of head volleyball coach Ben Somera. Somera and the Gamecock Club staff put together a goodie box for the village in Laghman province. Here are some of the pictures of the Gamecock-branded volleyballs with their new owners.
