Former first baseman Justin Smoak is off to a hot start at Triple-A in Oklahoma City for the Texas Rangers. Smoak is batting .326 (15-for-46) with a pair of homers and five RBI. He has also walked 16 times to just six strikeouts and owns a .500 on-base percentage. Smoak was also recently featured in Buster Olney's MLB blog on ESPN.com.
Another former first baseman, Steve Pearce, has also been on a tear at Triple-A in Indianapolis for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pearce, who has spent some time in "The Show," is batting .404 (21-for-52) with a pair of homers and six RBI as well as eight doubles and two triples.
