Free Flu Shots at UT-SC Game Saturday

Fans who are planning to attend Saturday afternoon's South Carolina vs. Tennessee men's basketball game can also take steps to keep themselves healthy this spring.  South Carolina DHEC will have nurses on hand at a station on the concourse of Colonial Life Arena, giving H1N1 flu shots for free to anyone who is in attendance and is interested.

Dr. Ernie Bell, Public Health Director for Region 3 of South Carolina DHEC, says people need to be aware that the threat of H1N1 has not passed.  "Flu epidemics often occur in waves," said Bell, "and since this flu first presented in the spring it is not too late to get the vaccine as CDC has indicated that we may see another wave this spring."

DHEC will also be providing free H1N1 flu shots at the South Carolina vs. Mississippi State men's basketball game on Saturday, February 27th as well as at Carolina Stadium prior to and during the Gamecocks baseball game with Clemson on Sunday, March 7th.

Fans must have a ticket to those games to gain access to the areas where the vaccine is being made available.
